Port Elizabeth kitesurfers are hosting their kitesurfing
championship from 7 to 29 October 2006. Competitors taking part will include,
kiters from Eastern Cape, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Western Cape, Gauteng & Foreign
professionals.
This year’s event is taking place over an 8 day period, with as
much kitesurfing elimination rounds to be held as possible. This allows the
competitors to sail a larger amount of heats, together with being exposed to
different levels of competition.
Venue:
The venue for the competition will be roving, depending on the prevailing wind
and swell conditions of the day.
Probable venues include:
• Westerly winds: Sardinia Bay or Cannon Rocks
• Easterly winds (To be sailed along the main PE beachfront area): Kings Beach,
Millers.
